Letter from the President

Hello!

Welcome to the second edition of The Peptide Wire, the American Peptide Company’s semi-annual e-newsletter.  As our business continues to progress at an accelerated rate, we want to keep you constantly up to date on the latest developments that may affect you.

This year continues to be a busy one for the American Peptide community. The expansion of our Vista cGMP facility in California continues on schedule as we take steps to meet the needs expressed to us by our customers and increase our large-scale peptide production capacity.

The expansion of our cGMP facility at Vista truly marks the extension of our technological capabilities, which is our focus at the upcoming CPhI Worldwide 2009 show in Madrid, Spain from October 13-15. At the show, we will highlight our cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) peptide manufacturing capabilities. Our strict compliance with cGMP guidelines ensures quality peptide products for therapeutic and diagnostic applications from the clinical trial phase to commercialization. Additionally, we mandate application of cGMP practices to non-cGMP applications in the early phases of drug development to offer our customers manufacturing processes that can be scaled up efficiently.

Our exhibition at the CPhI Worldwide 2009 show, the premiere global pharmaceutical ingredients conference, reflects our growing presence in Europe. As we expand our capacity and capabilities in North America, we are concurrently receiving significant interest from the European market and are escalating our activities there. We’ll keep you informed of new developments in this area in future newsletters.

Another new development here at American Peptide Company is the formation of our Research and Development group, based at our Sunnyvale, California location. The group is tasked with enhancing our technology capabilities and developing new products and services. As our industry evolves at a rapid pace and customers’ needs become more sophisticated, we have instituted the R&D group to boost our innovation potential and continue to provide our partners with new and innovative offerings to better enable them to drive peptide- based drug targets through the discovery and development process.

With these new developments underway we feel confident that we can continue to serve you effectively.

Best regards,

Takahiro Ogata
President & COO
