Gastric Emptying

Gastric emptying is the process by which the stomach moves its contents into the duodenum. GLP-1 receptor agonists slow gastric emptying, which prolongs satiety, reduces post-meal glucose excursions, and is one of the three pillars of their anti-obesity mechanism alongside central appetite suppression and insulin secretion enhancement.
