SMILES

Also called simplified molecular input line entry system · canonical SMILES

SMILES (Simplified Molecular Input Line Entry System) is a specification for encoding the structure of a chemical molecule as a text string, using letters for atoms and symbols for bonds and branches. It is compact, machine-readable, and widely used in cheminformatics databases including PubChem.
