Cyclic Peptide

Also called cyclized peptide · head-to-tail cyclization

A cyclic peptide has its N- and C-termini joined (or another internal cyclization), forming a ring. The constraint reduces conformational flexibility, which can improve receptor selectivity, proteolytic resistance, and binding affinity. Bremelanotide (PT-141) is a notable example — a cyclic heptapeptide.
