In Vitro

Also called cell culture · in-vitro · bench research

In vitro (Latin: "in glass") refers to experiments performed in cell cultures, tissue slices, or biochemical systems outside a living organism. In vitro results demonstrate biological plausibility but do not establish that an effect will occur in a living system at physiologically relevant concentrations.
