Preclinical research encompasses all studies — in vitro and animal in vivo — conducted before a compound enters human trials. Preclinical data inform safety and efficacy hypotheses for Phase 1 design. Many research peptides (BPC-157, LL-37, most GHRPs) remain at the preclinical stage with no human trial data.
