Cortisol is the main glucocorticoid hormone secreted by the adrenal cortex in response to stress and ACTH. It is closely monitored in GH-axis research because certain GH secretagogues — particularly hexarelin — elevate cortisol alongside GH. Ipamorelin is specifically studied for its selective GH release with minimal cortisol elevation.
