Freeze-Thaw

Also called freeze thaw cycling

A freeze-thaw cycle is one round of freezing a reconstituted peptide solution and then thawing it. Repeated cycling creates ice crystals that can shear the peptide chain, promote aggregation, and reduce potency. Most protocols recommend preparing single-use aliquots to minimize cycles.
