Telomere

Telomeres are repetitive DNA sequences capping chromosome ends that protect them from degradation and fusion. They shorten with each cell division; critically short telomeres trigger senescence or apoptosis. Epitalon is studied in longevity research for reported effects on telomerase activity, though evidence is concentrated in a limited body of literature.
