Pulsatile release describes hormones secreted in discrete pulses rather than continuously. GH is released in bursts — primarily at night — driven by alternating GHRH and somatostatin signals. GHRH analogs and GHRPs amplify pulse amplitude while preserving this pattern, which is considered more physiological than continuous exogenous GH administration.
